Home Therapy Kit – Complete narrowband UVB vitiligo treatment for home use
The Home Therapy Kit brings together the three most effective tools for vitiligo treatment at home: a clinical-grade 311 nm narrowband UVB lamp, a dermatologically developed topical gel and a daily nutritional supplement — everything you need to start a consistent, evidence-based vitiligo routine.
Each product is designed to complement the others. Used together, they address vitiligo from three directions simultaneously: targeted UVB light, topical melanocyte support and internal nutritional support.
Why the three-way approach works
What's Included

Treatment Routine
Three simple steps, used together consistently, make the difference. Follow this routine on every treatment day for the best results.
Every day
- Take 1 Vitistop Tablet with water, preferably during breakfast.
On UVB days (2–3× per week, min. 48 h apart)
- Apply Vitistop Gel to the affected skin areas and allow to absorb for approximately 30 minutes.
- Use the Kernel KN-4003BL2 UVB lamp on the treated areas — start with 12–20 seconds and increase gradually as your skin allows.
You can also apply Vitistop Gel on rest days as part of your daily skincare — the UVB lamp is the only step limited to 2–3× per week.
Increasing UVB exposure time
Increase the exposure time only when any redness from the previous session has completely faded. A mild, gentle redness the day after treatment is the target response — increase by 10–15 seconds per session. If redness persists beyond 24 hours, skip the next session and reduce time by 20%.
Important safety information
- Always wear the supplied UV-protective goggles during UVB treatment
- Never treat the same area more than once per day
- Do not apply Vitistop Gel to broken or irritated skin
- Vitistop Tablets are suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over
- Vitistop Gel is suitable for children aged 3 and over
- Consult a dermatologist before starting if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or on prescription medication
Where Vitiligo Often Responds Best & When to Expect Results

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about using the Kernel KN-4003BL2 for vitiligo and psoriasis phototherapy at home.
Is the Kernel KN-4003BL2 a Philips lamp?
The device is manufactured by Kernel Medical Equipment, but it uses a genuine Philips PL-S 9W/01/2P narrowband UVB bulb — the same lamp found in clinical phototherapy units. This ensures authentic 311 nm output.
Is the Kernel KN-4003BL2 suitable for scalp psoriasis?
Yes. The included comb attachment is designed to part the hair and bring the 311 nm NB-UVB light closer to the scalp, while also maintaining the correct 3 cm treatment distance. Always wear the supplied UV-protective goggles.
How often should I use the KN-4003BL2 for psoriasis?
Treat 2–3 times per week with at least 48 hours between sessions. Do not treat the same area more than once per day. Only increase exposure time when any redness from the previous session has completely settled.
Can I combine the KN-4003BL2 with topical psoriasis creams?
Yes. Many patients use NB-UVB alongside topical treatments. Apply neutral moisturisers after each session once the skin has cooled. Some active ingredients (corticosteroids, retinoids, salicylic acid) may increase photosensitivity — always follow your dermatologist's advice.
Is the Kernel KN-4003BL2 suitable for vitiligo?
Yes. The KN-4003BL2 uses 311 nm narrowband UVB — the standard wavelength used in dermatology clinics for vitiligo phototherapy. It is designed for treating small to medium-sized patches on the face, hands and body.
How often should I use the KN-4003BL2 for vitiligo?
Use 2–3 times per week with at least 48 hours between sessions. Increase exposure time only when the skin has fully recovered and there is no persistent redness from the previous session.
How long does repigmentation take?
Repigmentation is gradual. Many patients need at least 2–3 months to see the first pigment freckles, and meaningful improvement often takes 6–12 months. Face and neck tend to respond faster than hands and feet. Consistency is key.
What does the OLED display show?
The OLED screen displays the current timer setting and remaining treatment time. The microcomputer timer automatically shuts the device off when the set time is reached, preventing accidental overexposure.
Can I use the KN-4003BL2 on my face?
Yes, targeted NB-UVB can be applied to facial areas. Always wear the supplied UV-protective goggles and never look directly at the UVB light. Keep the exposure time short and increase gradually.
Is NB-UVB therapy suitable for children?
Yes, but only under paediatric dermatology supervision and with individually adjusted exposure times. The starting time for children is 15 seconds.
